Ombrae Cloud Window

Ombre Studios was commissioned to create a placemaking landmark for Anthem Properties that could define, and enhance the rather nondescript approach and entrance to the building’s parking garage. An Ombrae cloudscape solution was settled on, as it provided an atmospheric effect creating a virtual window to the sky that helps soften the rectilinear geometry of the building elevation, and mark the entrance to the car park.

DESIGN OPPORTUNITY

Activated Alley

The additional placement of Ombrae cloudscape sections along the living wall boundary on the east face of the alleyway works as a directional signifier and reinforces the intentional mixing of the natural and architectural message—enlivening the concrete wall, and transforming the industrial back alley into a more welcoming space for residents heading to or leaving home.
