Ombrae Dhow
Being the first and largest Ombrae project to be built in Europe, Eastern Europe, or the Middle East, the deep trust and dedicated involvement we established with our Turkish partner ASAS Aluminum was most important to the successful outcome for this challenging project. ASAS provided continuous support through design and technical revisions with the client and stakeholders in Qatar.
The final outcome was worthy of all the effort put into the long timeframe of the project. Based on the iconic sailing ships of the Arabian Gulf - the Dhow, the design was inspired by the architects original vision for the building, and was well received by the clients.

Sailing Through
The concept is simple - driving the building forward through the sea, making waves from the “bow” following along the sides of the building, with the waters final departure as the “wake” behind the building/ship as it sails through. The Ombrae Dhow façade in the new City of Lusail fits well into the other architectural wonders of this growing part of Doha, Qatar.
