Ombrae Studios was commissioned by the client to provide a shading screen for a $5M state-of-the-art office fitout for the gaming company's occupancy on the top two floors of the tallest office building in New Zealand. Although the office features stunning views over Waitemata Harbour, the design intent is for the Ombrae screen to shield the open office workstations from the brightness of the north-facing windows, without resorting to completely blocking all natural light using blinds.
The Ombrae System’s unique characteristics allowed our designers to create a themed image mural as a brand touchpoint for Rocketwerkz. The design depicts a rocketship taking off, with plumes from the launch filling the space. This visual direction is echoed in the rest of the interior design details, throughout the office's striking "space station" aesthetic.

Selective Treatment
Working closely with our New Zealand manufacturing partner Metal Concepts, we carefully planned a custom Ombrae surface area, while leaving the rest of the panels untreated. This added service was both a cost-saving measure, and specific to the client's need of not having any texture below the desk height of the workstations.
