Undulating Layers
Ombrae Studios proposed original artwork for this exterior application: a 5-storey façade over an exterior stairwell of this commercial office tower. Located in the heart of a developing business district in the City of Saltillo, this will be one of the first LEED Gold certified buildings in the area. The image design is inspired by the dynamic curved glass volumes of the office levels, while a subtle shadow gradient gives way to a prominent logo at the top. Communal terraces offer up-close viewing of the feature wall at eye-level, in addition to interior views for occupants in the stairwell.

ARTWORK DEVELOPMENT
Procedural Design
Leveraging Ombrae Studio's in-house design services, this original greyscale input artwork was developed from customized procedural tools, resulting in a dynamic undulating forms that reference the curved nature of the building itself.
DESIGN OPPORTUNITY
Integrated Signage
Occupying the uppermost, highly visible area of the feature wall, the client requested to have the Aurum brand identity integrated into the original custom design. Ombrae Studios worked carefully on the scaling of the logo to maintain resolution legibility with the available 1" diameter Optical Tiles™, with significant contrast to background artwork. Further consideration was given to constraining the branding to the top row of panels should a new tenant move in in the future, new replacement panels could be swapped in easily.
